Day 9- Field Study

Lahug Elementary School | September 25, 2025

Today’s field study at Lahug Elementary School was filled with learning, creativity, and teamwork. The lesson continued with the repetition of the letter N to help the students further strengthen their recognition and understanding of the letter.

Teacher Rosalie started the class by once again reviewing the sound of the letter N, patiently guiding the children as they pronounced it together. For the day’s activity, the learners were tasked to identify and color all the uppercase N’s and lowercase n’s on their worksheets. This was a fun way to improve their letter recognition skills.

To integrate counting into the lesson, the children were also asked to color six apples, cut them out, and paste them onto a basket printed on their worksheet. The activity not only reinforced counting skills but also developed their fine motor skills through cutting and pasting.

Meanwhile, I was assigned to help decorate the classroom attendance chart. While working on my task, I kept observing the children as they participated in their activities. Some of the students would come to me to show their work, and I gladly checked their progress. It was heartwarming to see their excitement and eagerness to learn.

The class ended with a prayer, which brought a calm and respectful close to the day’s activities. Teacher Rosalie then announced that there would be no classes on Friday due to a class suspension declared by the mayor because of the typhoon warning.

Despite the looming storm, today’s session was productive and engaging. The students showed enthusiasm in both their letter and number activities, proving that consistent practice makes learning more meaningful. This experience reminded me of the importance of balancing guidance, observation, and participation in supporting both the teacher and the learners.
