Day 8- Field Study
September 24, 2025
Our eighth day of field study at Lahug Elementary School was just as exciting as the first. The lesson focused once again on the letter N to help reinforce the students’ learning and retention.
Teacher Rosalie began the class by reviewing the sound of the letter N, ensuring that the children could clearly recognize and pronounce it. The repetition of the lesson was effective, as it gave the learners another chance to strengthen their understanding.
For the day’s activity, the students were asked to color the letter N. This simple yet engaging task allowed them to focus on the shape of the letter while expressing their creativity.
The highlight of the session was a fun play activity where the children formed a circle and moved around while singing the Alphabet Song. The energy in the classroom was contagious—everyone was smiling, laughing, and enjoying the activity while still learning.
Afterward, Teacher Rosalie encouraged the class to read words that begin with the letter N. This exercise helped the students connect the sound of the letter to actual words, further improving their retention and confidence in reading.
Overall, the day was productive and cheerful. It was inspiring to witness how repetition, combined with interactive activities, can enhance young learners’ understanding. This experience reaffirmed the importance of blending play, creativity, and practice in teaching foundational literacy skills.
