My First Day of Field Study at Lahug Elementary School

Today was the official start of my field study journey at Lahug Elementary School, and I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness as I walked through the school gates early in the morning. The moment I arrived, the warmth of the teachers and staff instantly put me at ease. Their smiles and welcoming words made me feel that I truly belonged in their community.

We started the day with a short orientation from the principal and our cooperating teachers. Listening to them talk about the school’s vision, mission, and values made me realize how much heart they pour into nurturing their learners. It wasn’t just about routines and policies it was about building a culture of care and growth. That really struck me.

After the orientation, we toured the campus. The classrooms were buzzing with energy students chatting, laughing, and eagerly participating in lessons. I was so inspired by how dedicated the teachers were, balancing lesson delivery and classroom management with so much patience and creativity. Watching them made me imagine myself in their place one day, guiding and encouraging young minds.

My favorite part of the day was stepping into the classroom for our first observation. Sitting at the back, I quietly took notes on how the teacher managed the class and how the students responded. It was so different from just reading about these strategies in books. Seeing it unfold right in front of me gave me a clearer picture of what teaching really means. It’s not just about explaining lessons it’s about connecting, adapting, and understanding each learner’s needs.

Before leaving, we gathered together with my fellow field study classmates to share our thoughts. Hearing their reflections reminded me that we’re all going through this journey together, each of us inspired in different ways but united by the same dream of becoming educators. Personally, I walked away from this first day feeling humbled and even more motivated to pursue teaching.

My first day at Lahug Elementary School was truly unforgettable. It gave me a glimpse of the challenges and joys of being a teacher, and it made me even more excited for the days ahead. I know this experience will shape not just my skills, but also my heart as a future educator.

DAY 4- FIELD STUDY

SEPTEMBER 4, 2025  Today’s field study at Lahug Elementary School was a little different because only 12 students were present in the morning class, which ran from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM . Even with a smaller class size, the students showed eagerness to participate and learn. We started the day with another practice for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts . The children were lively and cooperative, showing that they truly enjoy the scouting activities. It was a good way to channel their energy before settling into the classroom lesson. For the academic part of the day, the teacher began with a recall of the previous lesson . Since some students couldn’t remember what was discussed about the letter T and the different modes of transportation , this review helped refresh their memory. Day 17- FIELD STUDY 1

  Lahug Elementary School | November 28, 2025 Today was different from our usual classroom work because there were no regular classes. Instead, we were asked to report to Lahug Elementary School to attend a seminar organized for the teachers. Even though it was meant for them, we were given the chance to sit in and observe, which felt like a valuable opportunity. The seminar gave me a better idea of what teachers deal with beyond classroom routines. I watched how they exchanged ideas, shared challenges, and discussed new approaches to improve their teaching. It was interesting to see them in a professional learning setting rather than in front of their students. It reminded me that teaching involves constant growth and collaboration, not just delivering lessons.
